چکیده
Morphea is an inflammatory skin condition leading to fibrosis of the and subcutaneous tissue which produces cosmetic functional impairment (FI). Few studies have systematically examined demographic clinical features morphea associated with FI, making it difficult stratify patients for screening FI based on risk. To address this gap, we performed a multicenter cross-sectional analysis adults children (n=1104) enrolled in Adults Children registry at UT Southwestern (n=756) or National Registry Childhood-Onset Scleroderma University Pittsburgh (n=348). Patients were classified as having if they had limited range motion, contracture, limb length discrepancy, arthropathy their visit by domain expert (HJ/KT). Predictor variables included demographics key features. Descriptive statistics priori multivariable logistic regressions performed. was noted 293 (26.5%). Analysis body site involvement revealed increased frequency large joints such knees (48% vs 23%, p<0.001), hips (39% 14%, shoulders (28% p=0.009) relative while more smaller toes (32% 18%, p=0.007). Demographic deep (OR 4.45 [3.01, 6.70]), eosinophilic fasciitis/morphea profunda 2.37 [1.27, 4.47]), tenderness palpation 2.29 [1.40, 3.74]), pediatric status 1.85 [1.33, 2.59]). Plaque subtype (relative linear OR 0.44 [0.09, 0.35]) epidermal only 0.11 [0.01, 0.54]) protective against FI. We found readily determined features, patients, involvement, palpation, are morphea, informing need careful monitoring treatment when present.
